Membership in the PPSA is open to all practitioners and scholars of political science as well as similar fields of inquiry and practice both within and outside the academic setting. At present, the Association has around 200 regular members. 

Membership categories are:

Full membership - open to academics, professionals, and policy makers who have had a formal education or a track record/experience in a field within or related to the discipline of political science and international relations. Full members have voting rights.

Associate membership - open to scholars, professionals and policymakers who are currently enrolled as graduate students at the time of membership application/renewal. Proof of graduate enrollment must be provided. Associate members have no voting rights.

Lifetime membership is accorded to all former PPSA presidents and charter members. Lifetime members have voting rights.

Benefits of Membership

Members will get an ID or certificate as proof of their membership in the PPSA.

Members are entitled to early bird discounts on registration for activities organized by PPSA.

In addition to being part of the national and international PPSA network, members also enjoy benefits in the form of invitations to seminars, workshops, and conferences.

PPSA Members are also entitled to an exclusive one-year subscription to the Philippine Political Science Journal (an ISI-listed journal published by Koninklijke Brill NV).

Annual Membership Fees

To avail the benefits above and have their membership considered valid by PPSA, members are to pay annual membership dues adjusted for their type of membership. For 2021, the schedule of dues is as follows:

    • Full Membership: Php 3,000.00
    • Associate Membership: Php 1500.00

Requirements for Application or Renewal of PPSA Membership

For both application and renewal of membership, the following documents are required:

  • One (1) filled-up Individual Membership Application Form  and
  • At least one (1) proof of identification and/or proof of affiliation. Proofs of identification include government IDs, birth certificate, and passport, while proofs of affiliation include company and school IDs and certificates. For renewing PPSA Members, your PPSA Membership ID or Certification of Membership would suffice.

Modes of Application/Renewal of PPSA Membership

On-site Registration: On-site membership application and renewal is made available during the Annual PPSA Conference. Kindly prepare the required supporting documents and appropriate fees and approach the PPSA secretariat for assistance.

Manual Registration
: Manual application and renewal is made available year-round. Kindly prepare the required supporting documents and appropriate payments and approach the PPSA secretariat personally or via email, currently located in following address:
